2005 was the inaugural year for Porter Family Vineyards. Our 2005 vintages represent our premier into the world of wine, and we are intensely proud of what we have to offer. The 2005 growing season was exceptional across the Valley, with not only outstanding crop yields but outstanding quality. The little corner of Napa Valley where we are located, the Coombsville region, benefits from hillside exposures, volcanic soils, and moderate elevation, all which contribute to the genesis of our wines in the vineyard.

Our Syrah opens with aromas of blackberry, rosewater, cinnamon bark, orange zest, and sage, which crescendo to a main theme of cassis, blackberry, chocolate, black tea, and cherry, with velvety, luxurious, fine-grained tannins weaving counterpoint.
